Outcome 4

Summary 

As part of my Master's Level class DMET 510 Online Tools and Strategies in a Learner Centered Classroom, we discussed the importance of educators working with and learning from each other.  This directly relates to the above standard as we explored the use of a Professional Learning Network, or PLN.  An easy way to participate in a PLN is through Social Media. I explored Instagram and Linked In. 

Reflection

 I created an Instagram account just for my Ed Tech career. Since it is a new account, my results were limited. As the account grows, I expect my connections to grow as well. I found several companies to follow and former colleagues. While I was exploring, I’ve come across several posts that sparked ideas and inspiration. Once you have enough connections, you can form chat groups  where you can further discuss ideas, content, and advice. 

Additionally, I browsed some professional groups available in Linked In. I found a few groups, including an Instructional Design one. Right away I ran into a conversation on AI and the feelings teachers have about it.  After observing the group and the discussions, I found it to be helpful. There were opinions as well as recommended research to look into. I found Linked in as a great resource to directly network and test ideas among other professional educators.
