This is a one-session professional development workshop designed for elementary school educators on what the educational software Raz-Kids is and how to use it.
Included here is the mindmap used to organize important components of the training. Next is a flyer to advertize the PD session and entice attendance. For the day of the training, you will see an Agenda complete with a checklist and notes section. Finally there is the presentation document of the the training.

The professional development assignment was one that I really enjoyed. I learned about the components of creating a PD workshop, as well as advertizing it and making it enticing for learners. Small details like offering a feebie for attending the session or providing an agenda where the participants can take notes and check off progress goes a long way in making the experience better. For next time, I would like to add a downloadable guide that summarizes the steps so that the learners can take it with them and keep as a resource.

The educator encourages students to deepen their knowledge of digital citizenship and internet safety. Students answer the questions in order to move on to the next question using the resources provided by the educator. Students will then develop an Internet Safety Pledge based on their research .

This Internet Safety Digital Breakout meets the above stated standards. In designing this digital breakout I have utilized instructional design to develop an engaging technological activity that will motivate students to deepen their understanding of internet safety. This activity applies the learning theory of the Habbits of the Mind, and uses inquiry learning which encourages and enables better retainment of the information.
As an educator in Technology, I see students' misconceptions about this topic. This activity gives a fresh way to deepen understanding of the important skill of using the internet safely and appropriately. Students will be more engaged as it develops higher order thinking skills as they work together to figure out what the clues mean.
I enjoyed learning how to create an effective break out.

In Multimedia I, we were to design an instructional video in the format of a screencast in order to help learners understand how to complete a task. The video is created to show teachers a visual display, step by step , on how to invite students to a Google Classroom and how to ensure parents are getting the Google Classroom Digests.
The video is an example of Standard II.C with use of verbal and visual technology via a screencast. It utilizes dual coding to ensure the learner's success. This is evident as the learner not only hears the verbal instructions, but watches how to complete the task through text and images during the demonstration. Additionally this meets the ISTE standard 2.2c as it is used to prepare educators on how to become more familiar with the Google Classroom interface and to use it effectively in connecting with students and parents.

Screencasts are an extremely useful instructional tool that utilizes video, audio, and text to create a fruitful learning environment. They provide a permanent reference for the viewers, they force the producer to thoroughly explain the task step by step, and they offer a real-time visual of how to do the task. As a current Technology Coordinator, part of my job is helping teachers with their technology tasks. Since many of my colleagues were unsure of their skills in this area, this has proven to be a big help in assisting the teachers with this task.
