Remind the ball carrie to offer no resistance and not to try to avoid the tackler.
Stress the tackler position himself in front of the ball carrier
It is not necessary to bring the ball carrier to the ground but the defender should execute proper heads up technique.

4 Cones
Place 4 cones on a square approximately 3 yards on a side as shown below. Make two lines of players as indicated. One line is tacklers and the other ball carriers.
On the coaches command the first ball carrier in the line runs at half speed toward the opposite cone.
The tackler runs at three quarter speed toward his opposite cone and meets the ball carrier with his head up and in a position in front of the ball carrier.
The tackler does his best to execute the shoot and rip move using both arms to lift the runner off the ground.
The runner offers no resistance.
The tackler does not bring the ball carrier to the ground.
