On July 30, 2024, students from the Department of English put on a performance of scenes from Mahesh Dattani’s play "Final Solutions". This play is known for addressing the difficult topics of religious conflict and social prejudices. The students brought the story to life in a powerful way, showing how deeply these issues affect people. Their performance explored the tensions between different religious groups and the struggles they face when trying to forgive and move on from past conflicts.
The students worked hard to deliver their lines with emotion, showing the true feelings of the characters. They captured the essence of the play and made it feel real to the audience. Through their acting, they highlighted how people’s biases and judgments against others based on religion can create division in society. The performance made the audience think about these important issues and start conversations about them.
The event was not just about acting, but also about raising awareness. It showed the students’ passion for both theater and social issues. Their performance was a great example of how theater can be used to shed light on important topics and encourage reflection. The play's message about the need for understanding and reconciliation was clearly communicated, and the audience left with much to think about.
