Devoted to Family

Jason is the only son of Carl and Janet Darnall, both retired educators. He is married to the former Jenny Wood, daughter of Randy and Phyllis Wood. Jenny is a National Board Certified teacher of English and French at Marshall County High School and is a co-owner of Noteworthy Music Studio.

Jason and Jenny’s home is blessedly full with their two nephews, Kyler and Maxx, and their numerous furballs: Jack and Ralph (rescue dogs), Ava, Vincent, Andie, and Miss Cleo (rescue cats), and the king of the castle, Pharoah, a miniature Aussie-doodle.

Jason and Jenny’s family understands first-hand the troubles associated with addiction and its impact on our community as they have had the mixed- blessing of helping to raise their two nephews since 2010 when Jenny’s sister was charged with drug related issues. Addiction can destroy families and can destroy communities, and it is an issue that Jason has dealt with at home and at work. Jason’s family is stronger because of the struggle of his sister in law’s addiction and recovery. Additionally, Jason possesses more clarity in how addiction impacts our judicial system and how the judicial system can support recovery.

After much hard work and determination on her sister’s part and the allowance for accountability within the court system, Jason and Jenny will celebrate her sister’s sobriety of 3 years and 4 months in April 2018 .

Jason’s family is a big extended one, and he and Jenny are thankful for all the sacrifices so many in that expansive family make in their favor and more importantly make in the best interests of their nephews.
