Jason brings almost 15 years of trial and appellate court experience to the table. Here are just a few of his many professional achievements:

  • Assisted in drafting approximately 150 appellate court opinions as a law clerk for Kentucky Court of Appeals Judge Rick A. Johnson.
  • Experienced trial attorney with well over 75 cases tried to jury verdict ranging from DUI, assault, domestic violence, terroristic threatening, commercial trucking violations, drug possession, boundary disputes, breach of contract, timber disputes, theft, and faulty construction.
  • Prosecuted DUI’s with an 88% conviction rate over the past 10 years, which is three percentage points higher than the state average. Routinely requires triple the jail time for repeat offenders over the statutory minimum.
  • Collected child support with an efficiency placing Marshall County in the top 15% of all counties in Kentucky, and number one among all counties in western Kentucky.
  • Collected well over $750,000.00 from bad checks for local merchants in Marshall County over the last 10 years, averaging over $300.00 collected per business day.
  • Prosecuted and collected over $1.3 million dollars for other crime victims over the past 10 years, averaging well over $500.00 collected per business day.
  • Worked side-by-side with the Cabinet for Health & Family Services in securing safe placement for neglected or abused children in over 2,000 cases the past 10 years.
  • Assisted in securing guardians for over 450 disabled adults during the past 10 years.
  • Served as Hardin City Attorney since 2007.
  • Served as counsel for Marshall County Fiscal Court and other county agencies since 2004.
  • Served as counsel for Marshall County Health Department since 2004.
  • Served as counsel for Calloway County Health Department since 2016.
  • Appointed by the Supreme Court of Kentucky as Chair of the Continuing Legal Education Committee in 2017.
  • Served as Treasurer and Trustee of the Marshall County Law Library since 2007.
  • Served as Treasurer of the Marshall County Bar Association since 2007.
  • Published author with two scholarly law review articles and two articles in the Kentucky Bar Association’s Bench & Bar magazine.
  • Named Special Prosecutor numerous times by the Attorney General’s office to assist with criminal cases in adjoining counties, which has included the prosecution of government officials.
  • Recognized as Distinguished for High Professional Achievement and High Ethical Standing by Martindale-Hubbel rating system.
  • Elected as Site-Based School Committee Member for Benton Elementary 2018
  • Appointed to the Marshall County Exceptional Center Board
  • Recipient of the State's Ian Sonego Award of Excellence for Outstanding Achievements in the Pursuit of Criminal Justice



Being appointed special prosecutor, Jason was entrusted by McCracken County Attorney Sam Clymer and the Attorney General's Office with the prosecution of a case against a former deputy jailer in McCracken County.
