6. Reading, Writing, & Oral Communication

This Newsela artifact supports the standard 6A "understands appropriate and varied instructional approaches used before, during, and after reading, including those that develop word knowledge, vocabulary, comprehension, fluency, and strategy use in the content areas."  Newsela provides a plethera of articles that students can e-read, annotate, do written responses, and answer comprehensions. Students can adjust lexlie level. The same exact article will be adjusted to the different lexlie level ranges. I leanred this is a good tool to use for students who have a variety of reading levels. 

This artifact supports the standard 6I "knows appropriate and varied instructional approaches, including those that develop word knowledge, vocabulary, comprehension, fluency, and strategy use in the content areas."  READ180 uses a text book and App. The application has a diganostic that places students into a specific level. Each level has comprhenehsion, vocabulart, and fluency. The book provides videos, and written responses. I learned this intervention is a useful tool for students who struggle in reading and it provids interactive tools for teachers and students to utilze.
