4. Learning Environment

I chose this sign to represent this standard. This classroom expectation sign is visable to all students who enter the room.  This artifact is easily accessable to teachers to refer back to when needed. The classroom expectations are the same school wide. The importance of this artifact allows me to better understand "understands principles of and strategies for effective classroom and behavior management"(4a). This artifact serves as a consistant reminder to students the expectations of the classroom enviroment and how they can meet these expectations. I learned this is important to have posted for expectations in the classroom so students can reference it always, 

I chose this picture as an artifact to represent 4C, "to understand how to help students to work cooperatively and productively in groups." In the classroom my cooperating teacher and I arranged them in groups and often assign work for them to be completed in groups. Groups promote peer interaction. Group work promotes problem solving, peer evaluations and team work management. I learned that group seating is beneficial for students engagement
