Teaching Diverse Students
Students are provided flexible furniture in the classroom. This includes bean bags, moveable couches, swivel chairs, different height chairs and tradational chairs. During lessons students can utilize this furniture to provide a comfortable and stimulating learning enviroment. Students with disabilities such as ADHD benefit from being able to use swivel chairs to remain seated and also on task but to also give them their fufillment of movement. I learned that this is beneficial for students to utilize to engage their learning.
The talk to text featured is provided on all students devices. This artifact promotes the standard 1G "understands how to identify individual needs and how to locate and access technology, services, and resources to address those needs." Students who have physical disabiulities that prevent writing and minimial typing can use talk to text to provided answers to online questions. I learned this is very helpful to students who struggle with typing or writing.
