This choice board artifact supports the standard 5J "uses data to plan for differentiated instruction to allow for variations in individual learning needs." This was used as a writing sample. Students were able to choose a topic that was most interesting to them and they felt they could add the most detail to. Choice boards can also be used to provide different activities they should complete. Choice boards allow for differentiation and can cater to students specific learning styles. I learned that this provides sutdent with a variety of ways to understand content in their preferred learning method.
This artifact supports standard 5E. Students and staff can adjust lexile levels to accomodate students reading abilities. Students are provided the same article in a way that best supports their reading comprehension. I leanred this is very benficial tool to use in classroom with a wide variety of reading levels.
