James Haidak is a DJ based in Europe. When not making people dance and move to the music, he learns more about sound and music production and shares his knowledge with everyone through his series of blogs.
For this blog, James Haidak lists three excellent software for creating music, especially for DJs looking to enhance their electronic dance music or EDM sound.
Cubase by Steinberg
Cubase is created by music software pioneer Steinberg and is one of the most detail-oriented digital audio workstations (DAW) in the market. Also, some industry experts recognize Cubase as the first DAW in history, James Haidak notes. Cubase by Steinberg is available for Windows and Mac.
Ableton Live
Available for both Windows and Mac, Ableton Live is one of the most user-friendly digital DAWs. It’s simple and ridiculously easy to use, not just with EDM but with other genres of music as well. As if that wasn’t enough, DJs have found it easy to use for live performances.
Bitwig
A relatively new software, Bitwig is very much like Ableton Live (after all, some of the latter’s creators chose to create a different software), except that Bitwig has a few more features. The software can be utilized by Windows, Mac, and Linux users.
