One of James Haidak’s passions is environmental protection. He has done his research and has made considerable strides in helping out organizations whose aim is to clean up the oceans. In line with this, Haidak has started a series of blogs through which he informs and educates everyone on the importance of saving the environment.
For today, James Haidak focuses on the importance of the world’s oceans.
While it’s common knowledge that the oceans of the world are important, not everyone knows why exactly, except for the fact that they hold most of the water in the world and are great sources of various fish and seafood people eat.
But the significance of the oceans goes much deeper than that (no pun intended). For starters, the ocean is where most of the world’s phytoplankton can be found. These are microscopic plants that produce a lot of oxygen – more than 50 percent of the oxygen in the world, to be exact.
On top of that, the ocean also absorbs a great amount of the carbon dioxide in the air. In fact, for the past two centuries, half of the CO2 emissions from humans have been swallowed by these vast bodies of water.
Another important function of the world’s oceans, James Haidak explains, is that they regulate temperature and weather all over the globe.
For these and many other environmentally sound reasons, people should never take the oceans for granted, Haidak adds.
James Haidak is a DJ from Amsterdam. He gives tips on sound production as well as on running restaurants, traveling, and helping the environment. For more about Mr. Haidak and his passions, check out this blog.
