These are humans who have been bewitched by witches, vampires and demons. They have no free will outside of serving the needs of their master at any cost. For as long as they are under the spell of their master, they are to be considered to have no mind of their own. Usually, killing the one who created the spell will break it, but sometimes they can instead be convinced to release their thralls.
Victims of the Curse of the Wickerback are known as Wickerthralls, but they are not "true" thralls.
These monsters are not actually human, but they are neither demonic nor fae either. We are not entirely sure where doppelgangers come from and our efforts to find out have turned up few results. For now, we classify them as human as this is the form they exclusively shapeshift into. They are often mistaken for changelings, but changelings have clear fae origin when tested.
Most doppelgangers seek to live a normal life among humans, and the more intelligent ones will pick the visage of a human leagues away from where they choose to settle so not to draw any suspicion. However, there are doppelgangers out there with a taste for bloodlust, who seek to cause chaos wherever possible by seeding doubt and confusion. Villages have eaten themselves alive thanks to the meddling hands of doppelgangers.
Garzoth is the Archdemon of this cult. This is one of the oldest cults found across the continent, with many sects hidden in every country. Whilst this cult is certainly evil in its nature, they do well to conform to the laws of society. We believe that they understand that if they were to go beyond anything more than toeing the line with evil, that they will surely be hunted and eradicated. Therefore, whilst we do not consider the Emissaries of Silence without threat, we do not actively pursue them.
We know little of their practices, but in the past where Jaegers have had to hunt a sect of the cult they have found that all lairs of the Emissaries are underground in natural caves or abandoned mineshafts. A plain altar sits in the main chamber of the lair, with a severed head upon it with its mouth sewn shut with no other adornments. There is rarely any evidence of demonic summoning in these lairs, but that does not mean that it does not occur in other locations.
Vor’Tid is the Archdemon of this cult. This demon is well known to deal justice through any means necessary, and so-called paladins proudly declare themselves as paragons of Vor’Tid and deliver justice in her name as they see fit. The Chosen do not abide by the laws of any land, and are the cause of significant grief wherever they emerge. Worshippers of Vor’Tid are a scourge, but they are a well armed outfit with many lesser demons in league with them.
The Chosen are identifiable by their crimson robes and golden ritual daggers carried on their belts. Paladins wear ornate armour, akin to that of a medieval knight. Do not underestimate their antiquated appearance however, these alleged paladins of Vor’Tid are formidable opponents thanks to infernal blessings. The Chosen always travel in groups, and never settle anywhere for long.
Jaegers have battled The Chosen for decades, but the grip of this cult only replenishes wherever we work to diminish it. We expect to continue our fight against Vor’Tid’s influence for many years to come.
These humans are a deviation of witches. Where witches do not raise the dead, a necromancer devotes their craft to it. They have opened up a path to all manner of corruption to empower themselves.
Humans who have given themselves over to the forces of evil. They have made a pact with a demon in order to amass great power, shunning Good and performing evil deeds to earn favour. Favour comes as spells, magic and curses unnatural to this plane.
in the last century, Redeemed Witches have been welcomed into the ranks of the Jaeger.
Kalgoreth is the Archdemon of this newly emerging cult. We are still learning about Kalgoreth, but we understand that he is a being who craves order and to eradicate chaos.
