Nobility who become Jaeger do not forgo their responsibilities. They are often siblings to heirs and have become Jaeger because want a change of lifestyle, or because its a position of honour for their family. It is likely that most Jaeger who are nobles return to their political postings after some time, to fight the political battles with their noble peers in order to keep the Jaegers funded and supplied.
The highest title a player character with the Minor Noble background can have is Visconte or Thegn.
The structure of noble peerage is largely the same across Verda, Bevany, Calcera and Tarquinia. It is based on the Verdan Empire nobility, and the consequent expansion of noble families throughout the Empire in other nations. Since the Empire has left, the nobility and its structure has remained. However, there is only one Archduke, who is the leader of The Fayth and Verda.
