Evaluation on first college term
I had been using a software called Mixcraft in Year 11, which is very similar to Logic, so I found it fairly simple to adapt to using Logic as a DAW. However the recording studios is something new for me, there were practice rooms in my School but no recording studios. I have had a tour of the TV rooms but I've had no need to use them properly. I haven't had any practice in the DJ rooms either or learnt any DJ skills, but it is definitely something that I would love to do in the future. Likewise, I haven't had the chance to collab with anyone else in my class, but it would be something I like to do in the future. I had previously done Music to Film in School, so that's something that I knew the basics to and could use my skills in that to create a composition. My music theory knowledge was very low when I first started, as in school I had only briefly been taught about the circle of 5ths, so that was something new. But it has definitely helped with my compositions. I found researching for assignments fairly easy because I could search fo something I want to research and a few big articles going into depth about what I'm searching would come up. My performance skills haven't really improved as I'm mostly working on Logic when inn the recording studios, but setting up for a performance was something new to me. My production skills have massively improved for me as I'm finding creating a composition a lot easier. I haven't really learnt any new genres as my branch of genres I knew was already massive. My listening skills have also improved as I don't have as many distractions that I did in school. I haven't had the opportunity to do a performance with other students, but I have set mics up with them and recorded performances with them.
