A "digital citizen" is someone who uses computers and other digital devices, uses the internet and goes online to work or socialize. That's us! 😊
It's really important for ALL of us (including adults) to be responsible digital citizens - especially NOW when we are all doing school, working and communicating with our computers.
We need to learn & practice digital citizenship skills so we can make smart choices while we learn, create, play and engage with others online.
These video lessons will give you some guidelines and help teach you to think critically and use technology responsibly.
"Interland is an adventure-packed online game that makes learning about digital safety and citizenship interactive and fun - kids will help their fellow Internauts combat badly behaved hackers, phishers, oversharers, and bullies by practicing the skills they need to be good digital citizens."

**Note to Teachers & Parents: There are many ways you can help protect your children online. BEING AWARE is the most important, not only of what children are doing online, but the risks that are out there. If you notice behavior changes, do some digging in regards to your child's online presence. Checking phones and computers does not always show what is going on, due to apps that hide other apps and the ability to quickly delete history.
If you are looking for a parental control app, you may want to check out “Qustodio” which is designed to supervise, manage and protect your child’s device use. This can help, but again, there are lots of ways to hide activity.https://www.qustodio.com/en/
Predators target children through games like Roblox, XBox and any other game or app that has a chat feature or messaging. My students are often surprised when I tell them that "creepy people" pretend to be kids online and try to find out where they go to school, where and when they have a soccer game, etc. This happened to my friend's child.
Sextortion is currently rampant and one of the ways predators keep students from talking to their parents and not getting help. Please know, that if this happens to your child or student, they are NOT alone. This is a huge crime ring. Click here for more on this topic.
