You are most likely starting out as a teacher & learning SO much!
I remember having moments during my 2nd, 3rd and basically every year after my first year, thinking "ohhhh...that's what I need to be doing!"
Being reflective is one of the MOST important characteristics of a good teacher. We can plan the best lessons, but if our students aren't actually engaged and learning what we want & need them to learn, its all for naught.
Community & Support Help So Much!
I was blessed to do my student teaching and spend my first 12 years of teaching at a model technology school called Clear View Charter School, in Chula Vista, CA with the most amazing mentor teachers and colleagues. "We are all learners" was one of our school slogans and it made us feel super comfortable trying new things. It was a supportive, encouraging work environment that led to the same environment for our students.
I'm hoping to replicate that sort of environment here, with you.
While teaching, I was a Beginning Teacher Support Provider and a Cooperating Teacher for San Diego State University, working with, training and helping new teachers. And in my job as Tech Teacher at Bird Rock, I supported the teachers while teaching all grades TK-5th.
I love to help others, encourage them, make them comfortable and feel like they can do it! As my Mom ages, I keep finding myself saying to her "You can do it!" It's just always nice to have someone on your side cheering you on. Just like we do for our students.
Sharing my resources online is new for me! I'm learning as I go, so I welcome feedback (please be nice) and really want to know what you like and need. I have TONS of resources to share.

Teaching career wise - I'm proud of...
working at a model technology school way back before Google was even created!
being invited to share my teaching methods at the "Characteristics of Highly Successful Teachers," a Classroom Achievement Research Group hosted by Chula Vista Elementary School District.
creating and starting an elementary school from the ground up with a group of teachers and parents. We designed all aspects of the curriculum, instructional practices and processes, recruited students/families and started our own school! Being a founder, part of the Leadership & Strategic Planning teams and being awarded WASC accreditation was challenging and rewarding.
Starting a program called Multiplication Mathletes to help students exercise their brains, strengthen their multiplication skills and have fun!
deciding to put my teaching career aside to live with and help my elderly parents. This time with them is such a blessing. 💛
