Implementation
This presentation was shared with my colleagues at the beginning of the year. I met with my administrator in advance to gather input and highlight important components of our acceptable use policy. At our department meeting, teachers provided feedback on what we should emphasize as a team in our first weeks of school with students.

Information Literacy Presentation
Artifact Description
This is a presentation for teaching Information Literacy I created to share with my colleagues.
Implementation
I shared this presentation with my colleagues in a department meeting to address challenges we were having with supporting students in research and website evaluation.
Reflection
Discussing and modeling effective ways to support the development of information literacy skillsets is a necessary role all educators must consider in their contemporary learning environments. Creating opportunities for teaching this skill is an important part of being a digital citizen advocate and demonstrates my competency in meeting indicator 7c as I support educators and students in critically examining sources of online media and methods for identifying underlying assumptions.
Impact
This presentation sparked a deeper conversation on the challenges of supporting students as they conduct research. I modeled an example of website evaluation using the CRAAP model which inspired other colleagues to create supportive lessons for students to enhance their research skills. The impact has been positive for students and my colleagues and I are noticing students researching skills are improving.
Overall Reflection
As I reflect on the indicators for being a digital citizen advocate, I believe I am effectively meeting indicators 7b and 7d by working with stakeholders to create our acceptable use policy to support and promote digital citizenship and responsible technology use. Additionally, I am meeting indicator 7c by designing learning opportunities for cultivating an understanding of how to critically examine sources online. I am working towards meeting indicator 7a, inspiring and encouraging educators and students to use technology for civic engagement in meaningful ways that can improve their communities. I believe I will grow in this area as I work with administrators, educators, students, and families to create more meaningful connections and explore opportunities to engage within our communities.
