Camp Engage - Nearpod Presentation
Artifact Description
This is a slideshow I created after attending a weekend conference with Nearpod’s Camp Engage that I shared with my colleagues in our weekly Professional Learning Community (PLC). This slideshow was used to demonstrate a technology tool that can be utilized to increase engagement and support learning objectives in lessons.
Implementation
This presentation was shared with my colleagues during a Professional Learning session where we shared ways we engage our scholars. We reviewed some of the engagement strategies used within the presentation and discussed strategies that were shared to brainstorm ways to ensure learners are experiencing equitable access to learning objectives in synchronous lessons.
Impact
Participating in professional development focussed on equity and educational technology integration impacts my coaching by deepening my understanding of effective integration and delivery of educational technology practices. This in turn allows me to model and demonstrate educational technology practices that support educators I collaborate with and leaders within the programs I support. Sharing experiences with my colleagues helped them consider technological options they can bring to their lessons to engage students. Several teachers reported they would also make an effort to attend Camp Engage next time it comes around and are now trying some of the resources that I shared in the PLC.
Reflection
Attending conferences and professional learning supports my growth towards indicator 2a because it helps me develop my understanding and expertise within the field of educational technology which builds my skill set as an educational technology coach and strengthens my understanding of best practices. Connecting with professionals in equity and technology integration allows me to build a strong network of educational technology leaders and supports my technology skills which strengthen my ability to integrate and model ISTE standards for educators and leaders and builds my ability to strengthen our program’s goals of engaging with all students. Sharing resources like this Nearpod presentation in PLCs support our team of educators to develop and design a shared vision for how we will engage students within synchronous lessons to meet learning goals using technology integration.

Twitter and Instagram Social Networks
Artifact Description
This artifact is a list of professional learning communities I follow and actively participate in. As a technology coach, I collaborate on both Twitter and Instagram to find and share resources and keep informed on policies, best pedagogical practices, and new tools available to support learning engagement and outcomes.
Implementation
I stay connected with professional learning communities on both Twitter and Instagram to keep up with educational tools and trends that keep me informed and connected with experts and educational leaders. These communities inspire and shape my collaboration with colleagues and inform our PLCs. To implement my findings, I bring them back to my colleagues during our PLCs where we review ideas and reflect on strategies that will enhance our lessons and help us create outstanding learning environments.
Impact
Building collaborative networks both within and outside of my organization ensures I am able to support educators and leaders within my professional learning communities by sharing the resources and modeling new ideas that come from these collaborations. This positively impacts my colleagues as we meet to discuss ideas on improving learner engagement and outcomes. I have met in small groups and in our PLCs to share new ideas and model engagement strategies that I glean from my Twitter and Instagram communities. Staying connected to PLCs builds my pedagogical and technological tool kit, ensures I am informed, and supports my development as an educational technology coach.
Reflection
Connecting with educational technology, experts, coaches, and leaders supports my growth towards indicator 2b because it allows me to enhance my coaching practice and keeps me up to date on merging technology, innovations, and pedagogy. Participating in both internal and external PLCs ensures that I am continuing my professional growth through the support of experts within these Communities.
Overall Reflection
As I reflect on the indicators for being a connected learner, I believe I am meeting both Indicator 2a and Indicator 2b because I am committed to continuing my professional learning to deepen my expertise through participation at equity and technology focussed training and conferences, as well as collaboration within education technology communities. This supports my acquisition of knowledge and improves my ability to effectively model and share resources and ideas that I collect along the way with my colleagues. The strategies and tools I have shared on new tools and practices allow us to reflect on our own experiences and support us as we work towards identifying key ways to meet our goals of maximizing student engagement and learning outcomes. I am still working towards Indicator 2c. establishing shared goals with educators and reflecting on success and continued improvement. I collaborate with colleagues and work on defining shared goals as a team of committed educators. I would like to grow in this area and develop my leadership abilities to better support this indicator.
