Evidence 0f Competency
Compass Charter Schools Online Advisory Committee
Artifact Description
I am a committee member of Compass Charter Schools Online Advisory. The purpose of this committee is to provide feedback to school leadership to improve the Online Learning program and support the implementation of program procedures, aligned with our LCAP goals. As a committee member, I address concerns my colleagues have with our online curriculum, student engagement, supportive technology resources, and training. Our committee discussions are recorded on a collaborative doc that is shared with the admin team. We also have an admin representative at these meetings to act as a sounding board and problem solver. This year we have successfully provided training from our curriculum providers for content (accelerate education, renaissance, generation genius, and more). Participating on this committee provides an opportunity to problem solve real-time issues and concerns and implement support and advocate for changes.
Reflection
Serving as a committee member of the online learning advisory has been a rewarding experience that has supported my growth as a change agent. Specifically, it meets indicator 1a by creating a culture of forward-thinking change-makers that serve the greater goal of reflecting, adapting, and evolving to meet the needs of our learning community. It also represents indicator 1b, because I facilitate equitable use of digital learning tools and content that meet the needs of each learner by addressing real-time issues by problem-solving to find equitable learning solutions.
Impact
As a member of the Online Advisory Committee, I address educator concerns, review and support policy implementation, and work to find solutions to problems that occur for our online educator. This positively impacts our online academic learning experiences because I facilitate discussions, address immediate concerns, and develop and brainstorm strategies for improvements. In the 2021-22 school year, we have made it a direct focus of this committee to enhance opportunities for teacher collaborations, offer relevant training that supports engagement strategies in our online learning labs, and address effective strategies that support shared goals for Tier-1 interventions.
