Actions - iNeed

This is a power that can be used to quickly execute certain actions. Equip the power, shout and a menu should pop up giving you access to the following:

  • Check the status of your needs via a text notification.
  • Auto-eat or drink an item from your inventory without actually opening your inventory.
  • Drink or refill your waterskins from a body of water without opening your inventory.
  • Have your character sit on the ground. Using Wait while your character is sitting will lower Fatigue.
  • Check the number of consumables remaining in your inventory. This is useful when using the auto-eat or drink actions.
  • Roast raw meat when next to a campfire without any additional ingredients such as Salt Piles or equipment such as Cooking Pots.
  • Open up the Options menu, which will allow you to configure the mod to your liking.

Water Barrels/Kegs/Buckets

Water Barrels/Kegs are intended to serve as an easy source of water for locations where it would make sense. Barrels/kegs can be purchased from general goods merchants or crafted at a Forge. Once a location to build is chosen, simply drop the item or access it from your inventory.

Water Buckets are intended to serve as an in-game patching system for mod-added wells not supported by iNeed. Water buckets can be crafted at a Forge and then placed anywhere in the world by dropping or accessing them from your inventory. There are no restrictions on placement so they can be placed near unsupported wells or any other location you deem appropriate.

Unknown Water & Salt Water

During your travels, you may encounter questionable water while attempting to refill your waterskins. Unknown water comes from an unknown source and may be contaminated enough to make you sick. After refilling your waterskins with unknown water, purify it at a Cooking Pot to make it safe to drink. You may also empty out unknown water from your waterskins by accessing it from your inventory. An option to make all bodies of water potentially contaminated is available in the menu.

Salt water can be collected at the ocean when refilling your waterskins and can be reduced to Salt Piles at a Cooking Pot. Salt water can also be dumped out of your waterskins simply by accessing it from your inventory.

Follower Needs

Followers will occasionally eat or drink throughout the day. In addition, once you have sat down and eaten enough, followers will also begin eating provided there is someplace to sit nearby. Followers will stop eating once you get up or move far enough away. No actual food items will be consumed but animations will play. Speaking with each follower once will automatically enable this feature.

If you own a horse and are standing in front of it, you will be able to feed it by activating it. Feeding your horse at least once every 3 hours gives it a slight stamina regeneration buff. Since your horse likely grazes when you're not around, there are no penalties for not feeding it!

Food Removal

There's a lot of food in Skyrim, which may make surviving a little too easy for you. With this option enabled, most food in barrels/sacks will be removed or replaced with Salt Piles or Garlic--ingredients that are useful for cooking. Food laying around will be dynamically disabled from all interiors based on a several factors. Wealthier, more inhabited locations will be more likely to retain their food. Dungeons will have all food and drinks removed. This feature is disabled by default and will have to be enabled in the menu.

Restoration

When your hunger and/or thirst are completely sated, eating or drinking will restore health/magicka/stamina instead. More filling foods will provide more health. Drinks will primarily restore magicka and stamina while soups will restore all three stats. This mechanic can be enabled in the menu.

Cannibal

You will be able to feed/gather meat from dead NPCs provided that you remove their chest armor/clothing first. You will also be able to eat raw meat without any negative consequences. This feature is primarily aimed at those who are roleplaying characters who can eat raw meat or have the Ring of Namira equipped. This mechanic can be enabled in the menu.
