My PowerPoint presentation rubric shows that I am ready to implement student assessment in the agriculture education classroom. My PowerPoint presentation demonstrates comprehensive assessment because it evaluates different aspects of a presentation, such as student performance during the presentation and the creativity skills needed to put the presentation together. It assesses through technical domains by evaluating the design of the slides and creativity placed into the presentation. It assesses academic domains by evaluating the grammar and content presented throughout the project. It assesses employability domains by assessing how the students present effectively, which can be used in future careers and college courses. In addition, it demonstrates authentic assessment because students have to apply their knowledge and skills to gather relevant information for their presentation. Effective communication and presentation skills are skills that the students can gain to help them with real-world contexts such as future careers. I will incorporate this presentation rubric into my Agriculture Education program by assessing students in a meaningful way that gives a consistent structure to measure learning outcomes.
The Agriculture Career Exploration Essay Rubric exemplifies my understanding of effective student assessment in CTE because it assesses students in career research. The Agriculture Career Exploration Essay Rubric demonstrates comprehensive assessment because it uses both formative and summative assessments throughout the research process in the essay. It utilizes formative assessment because students can get feedback before turning in their final submission to refine their work. It utilizes summative assessment because the final essay is given a score based on the specific criteria in the rubric. This helps measure their technical knowledge, academic writing skills, and employability. In addition, the Agriculture Career Exploration Essay Rubric demonstrates alignment because it is directly aligned with CTE career program standards. This ensures that students are evaluated in understanding different career pathways, which supports their career and college readiness. The rubric is broken down into sections with career research depth, personal connection, and career pathway analysis to support student learning in the AFNR standards. I will incorporate this rubric into my Agriculture Education program by assessing students' learning within CTE standards.
