Program Description:
Join Jake & Iris for a silly and informative neurodivergent outing with our fellow bird nerds! We absolutely love nerding out on birds and are prepared to spout as many fun facts as we possibly can– please feel free to bring your own to share with the group if that’s also your cup of tea. The plan is to do an introduction with community guidelines, multi-sensory learning on birds we may see, and a meandering walk to gaze upon our favorite feathered friends. After we bird to our hearts’ contents (within the time frame, so not really), we will plan to have group sharing with bird-related coloring sheets at picnic tables. We will bring our own picnic lunches and hang out afterwards for anyone who wants to join.
There will be two sensory breaks incorporated throughout and we will bring extra fidgets, binoculars, sensory menus, earplugs/headphones, and fun fact sheets to share or borrow. Please let us know of additional access considerations you may have and bring your own favorite sensory tools or accommodations. Expect a detailed overview ahead of time to all those who are signed up. We love more information!!! This event is especially reserved for folks who identify as neurodivergent and their loved ones.
