Creative workshops, film screenings, folk dance rehearsals, and inclusive events featuring over 15 guest speakers including visits to local schools, colleges, universities  and authority representatives. 

Free classes from Basic to Conversational English designed for Romanian speakers to build confidence and progress into formal ESOL courses. 

Live interpreting during community events, forums, group sessions, and one-to-one interactions—ensuring participants can fully engage regardless of language. 

Support with written transcriptions, document summaries, and guidance on processes—including self-referrals—to support integration in areas such as housing, benefits, and welfare. 

Practical assistance for individuals facing social challenges—such as homelessness, language barriers or isolation—through coordinated help with community support networks, housing access, and NHS outreach. 

Close cooperation with local GP practices and NHS outreach teams to facilitate healthcare registration, support medical access, and improve wellbeing for community members. 

Expert guidance for schools and educational institutions on supporting Romanian-speaking students and families: document translation, parent communication, cultural awareness training, and EAL inclusion strategies. 

We are an active part of multi-agency work (MDT) in Suffolk, regularly collaborating with local authorities, including the police, councils, health services, and other organisations to:

• Prevent anti-social behaviour (ASB) by building trust, awareness, and community cohesion.

• Support vulnerable individuals and families through early intervention, safeguarding, and referral.

• Provide cultural insights to help services engage more effectively with Romanian-speaking individuals.

• Take part in forums and panels that shape local safety strategies and promote inclusion.

Our approach is built on proactive collaboration, community dialogue, and long-term integration, aiming to create a safer and more connected Suffolk for everyone.

At Ipswich Romanian Community, we aim to strengthen both cultural identity and community integration through creative, educational, and social experiences. Together, we work to keep Romanian traditions and culture alive, while offering a welcoming space for people of all ages to connect, learn, and grow.

Our activities are open to everyone, and we encourage family involvement – children are welcome to attend but must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Through these inclusive opportunities, we promote wellbeing, community spirit, and a deeper sense of belonging.
