Ipswich Romanian Community, in collaboration with ICR FM – Ipswich Community Radio, is offering a free training program for Romanian speakers in Ipswich and Suffolk.
What you’ll learn:
• How a radio show is created and managed
• Studio equipment and technical skills
• Communication, presentation, and teamwork
• Planning and production
When: Every Wednesday for 8 weeks, starting 29 April
Time: 19:00 – 22:00
Location: Ipswich Community Radio – Tower Street Studios
English is not required, but it can be helpful.
Benefits:
• Practical media and communication skills
• More confidence in speaking and presenting
• Experience in a real community-impact project
• Useful for personal and professional growth
Participation is unpaid, but places are limited.
Ipswich Romanian Community will cover the full cost for selected participants.

Rope Walk Community Project – In Development
We are excited to be working alongside the Integrated Neighbourhood Team, Ipswich Community Media, Community Praxis, and other local organisations, in close collaboration with local authorities, on the Rope Walk Project.
With the support and involvement of the local community, our shared goal is to improve the area, engage with residents, and identify key challenges together. This project is currently in the development stage, and as we continue to listen and learn from the community, we will adapt and grow based on emerging needs.

The Ipswich Romanian Community (IRC), is excited to announce The Educational Festival (TEF) – a brand-new event aiming to highlight and celebrate educational, cultural, and community values in Ipswich.
Building on the success of Suffolk's first Romanian Film Festival, TEF will bring together local organisations, educators, and creatives to make learning more visible, accessible, and engaging for all ages and backgrounds.
Join us during Half Term to discover workshops, talks, and cultural experiences that connect communities and celebrate the power of education beyond the classroom.

Ipswich Romanian Community is currently running an important event as part of the Let's Cut Smoking project, funded by the Suffolk Community Foundation and delivered in partnership with Ipswich Community Media.
The goal of the project is to encourage people to quit smoking by offering real, practical support.
The project runs until 30th November 2025, and this event is happening now!
Open to: Individuals aged 18 and over only

The Ipswich Romanian Community invites all Romanian speakers to join our free English conversation sessions, designed to help you improve your confidence and fluency in English.

This initiative focuses on bringing people together to care for our local green spaces through:
Park clean-up activities
Litter picking and light gardening
-Creating a cleaner, safer and more welcoming environment for families and children
Building connections between people of different backgrounds
All equipment is provided.
It’s a fun and meaningful way to spend time outdoors while giving back.
