The sample scenarios below expand on previous techniques and push students to control other aspects of the Orbital design. A key focus is contact time durations as well as the number of contacts. Recommended videos for this series are below and the available scenarios are linked beneath that.
This key lesson shows how to export data from STK in Comma Seperated Values (CSV) formats. This exported data can then be imported into other programs quickly in order to do in depth analysis.
This key lesson shows how to import CSVs into both Sheets and Excel. Each has their own details in formatting in order to use effectively. These lessons are also highly applicable to QR2 scenarios.
In this scenario, students explore maximising contact time with friendly targets. However, they must limit the DURATION of contacts with a hostile target. Total contact time with the hostile is irrelevant. Students are advised to export a CSV and use a CountIF function.
This scenario puts the student in the far future around a moon of Jupiter. The goal is to contact a friendly moving target regularly, while minimising contacts with hostile moving targets. Reccommend students use the "Gaps" report in their analysis.
