These sample scenarios introduce items added onto the satellite in STK itself. This series focuses on Sensors (treating them like scanning equipment for imaging). Other objects can be added onto satellites for a variety of purposes, each of these objects have special functions STK enables with them. Sensors allow for controlled Field Of View (FOV), but other objects (to come later) include Transmitters and Receivers. This series gets students practice with pulling the CORRECT access information to analyse their mission appropriately. Recommended videos for this series are below and the available scenarios are linked beneath that.
This lesson gives an overview adding sensors, adjusting the FOV, and correctly pulling the Access data for a sensor with a target.
This lesson shows how to determine if orbits are within operational specifications.
This scenario uses an air quality scanner to determine the effects of school bus emissions on the air quality in school district.
This scenario uses a sensor to act as a camera with lighting, range, and angle limitations to observe an isolated society discretely.
This scenario uses a sensor to as an Infrared Scanner to detect wildlife populations regardless of lightning conditions.
