Translation is the transfer of an oral or a written message from one language into another in the written form. Translation is both a process and the result of the process. The target of every translation is to ensure that the message that is delivered in one language is rendered in another language exactly. Some domains of translation include:

• General translation; Translating non-specialised texts without major terminological difficulties, texts which are not particularly complex. Eg. Journalistic texts, advertising texts, letters and emails, texts about tourism, information on art, CVs, etc.

• Technical translation; Translation of materials dealing with scientific, specialised and technical subjects and using specialised terminology. Requires a good understanding of the subject matter and specialised terms of that field in both languages. Eg…medical, legal, economic, bank, finance, science, business translation, etc;
