Workshop Session Plans
EFFORTS TO PUBLICIZE RESOURCES
It is important that the knowledge obtained in order to produce the pinball and sound-reactive light displays remains open to the public. In publicizing this information, anyone -- including users of MakeLabs on an international scale -- can potentially reproduce and improve upon our designs. One of the ways in which we are sharing this information is through the existence of this website alone, but we are also working to share this information with hands-on workshops.
Ages 18+
There is a workshop planned for March 1, 2023 that will be run by the WPI Makerspace Team that discusses the workings of both the mechanical and electrical design in the two installations. There will be two stations spread across the space: one for the 3-D modeling and laser-cutting, and the other for coding the sound-reactive lights in Arduino.
Ages: 7-10, 11-14, 15-17, and 18+
Additionally, other lesson plans are created that are oriented to different age groups, ranging from the ages 7 to 18+. They will be carried out across four sessions in four weeks, with each session being oriented towards a different concept that is encapsulated by the pinball machine and the sound-reactive light displays.
