Computer Aided Design
What is Computer Aided Design?
Computer Aided Design, commonly abbreviated to CAD, is the use of computers based software to aid in the design process. CAD software allows the user to create 3D models from 2D drawings.
Above shows the design process that a designer or engineer might use to create a finished product. First, they brainstorm all the different possibilities for a particular future product and then draw them out. After that the product can be created in CAD to become a model and a drawing. Finally, the product is brought to life!
