Informational Text is Visualized Differently
Students must know that informational text is not visualized the same as a narrative. Narrative text is more like a movie while informational text is more like a documentary. (Zeigler & Johns, 2005) Informational texts is visualized in short firm clips all connected to the topic in some way. These bits and pieces of information relate to each other in a variety of ways. The more students can connect the information, the more they will understand.

- connect the new information with what they already know.
- see how the new vocabulary words relate to each other.
- transfer their knowledge about informational text to the content subjects.
- know when they do or do not understand the information.
- doesn't enjoy the content subjects.
Visualization should be intentionally used to impact each of these challenges.
