Johnson Mesa is an uphill road approximately sixteen miles northwest of Las Vegas in the Canovas Canyon. At the base of the hill is a small campground named Western Life Camp where you can park. It is about a five mile uphill climb to the top of the mesa. Afterwards, there's the option to go on south to Encinoso Canyon if exploration is a desire.
