I created a Google Jamboard that applies the thinking routine "See, Think, Wonder". This activity can be used to create interest and engagement when introducing my lesson plan for A Long Walk to Water. Students will observe the photos on each slide and then write what they See, Think, or Wonder, and explain their thoughts. This activity allows students to express their thoughts about the topic and to also consider those of their peers.
I created a Padlet that applies the thinking routine, "What Makes You Say That?". This activity can be used during the Explore Phase of my 5Es lesson plan, where students can choose which resource they would like to learn more about. The resources include EdPuzzle videos to complete, photos to analyze, an article, and an infographic. These resources provide a variety of options to optimize comprehension and provide the students with choices. For the thinking routine, students will answer the questions on the Padlet with their own thoughts and ideas.
Technological Pedagogical Knowledge represents the instructional tools, EdTech tools, and strategies that provide opportunities for increased comprehension, critical thinking, scaffolding, and accessibility for students. In this course, I learned the value of using thinking strategies and presenting materials in a variety of ways in accordance with UDL guidelines. Students can build connections, develop new ideas, and become essential components of their learning processes.
