Becoming a 21st Century means changing my perspective on teaching to one that empowers students with choices and self-directed learning, promoting critical thinking and inquiry, and using technology tools to support learning. Today's students have grown up using technology and are used to being able to find information quickly on the internet, and communicate with technology tools and apps. A 21st Century Teacher needs to be aware of the changing demographic of students and find ways to make learning more engaging and proactive for them. By using the strategies and methods from Universal Design for Learning (UDL), a 21st Century Teacher can provide a learning environment that removes barriers to learning, presents opportunities for learning growth, and supports students in their learning experiences.

This is an example of the TPACK (Technological Pedagogical and Content Knowledge) Model.
Teachers have the skills and knowledge in the areas of Technology, Pedagogy, and Content, or they can acquire these skills. When these components blend together, teachers have a stronger foundation for integrating technology into the classroom, while implementing pedagogical and content strategies effectively.
