I created a screencast video using Loom and then added interactive questions with Edpuzzle. The lesson began originally as Google Slides that I created about the empire of Ghana. I created a Loom screencast video so that I could discuss and explain the slides to my students. Once this was complete, I turned the video into an Edpuzzle lesson.
For this example, I used Kami to annotate an article that I had assigned to my students. I was able to add additional instructions and write questions for the article. My students were able to use Kami to annotate the article online, highlight online with markers, and respond to the questions.
This is an example of a using the app PearDeck for adding interactive questions within Google Slides. Students can complete the PearDeck questions independently or follow along with the teacher. By adding interactive questions, I am able to check for understanding and help my students think about what they are learning.
Technological Content Knowledge includes the skills that I have learned for using technology and EdTech tools in my classroom, and how these tools have changed how my content is presented. Edpuzzle is a technology tool that helps keep my students engaged and thinking about the material that is presented to them. My students have used Kami as a tool for interacting with or annotating articles and PDF assignments. I would also like to use Kami's additional features, including the audio comments and multimedia options. PearDeck has also been a very useful resource for making Google Slides more interactive and can be used both synchronously and asynchronously. I like that PearDeck offers options for how students can respond and that I can check on my their progress.
