Additional Reading

Textbook Reading:

Textbook readings correspond with Workshop dates. See the course Calendar for chapter assignments by date. You do not need to submit reading notes on the textbook.

Additional Reading Assignment:

In addition to the textbook, you must read and take notes on a variety of materials outside of class. These may include journal articles, videos, chapters you might read in a collection development text other than the one for this class, and any other interesting resources that you find that help understand the role of libraries and their collections these days. They should total the equivalent of a full textbook of 300 pages (you can count our textbook as part of the 300 but don't submit any notes on the textbook reading to the blog or in your notes).

For each item, record the citation, number of equivalent pages and a very brief annotation.

Any items that you like on the Virtual Learning Guide can count toward your goal. For those with urls, do spend time perusing the site before counting it. the site is at: The Virtual Library Guide website (free) at: https://sites.google.com/view/virtual-library-guide/home

You must take notes on these additional reading materials. These can be as brief or detailed as you wish. Submit the completed notes to the professor via Canvas before the last day of the semester. The assignment is worth 30 points.

An additional assignment- Blog Post to Blogger: 5 points

This is to showcase the best of the best from what you read for this class. Following the "How To Post Guide" on Blogger, create a post that can add to 266's Collaborative Research Depository.
