When it comes to regulating influencer advertisements, rules by the FTC were put in place around the mid-2010s. When a lot of the influencers started to profit and revenue started to flow through different corporations using this strategy FTC had to place guidelines. When making these advertisements all parties have to adhere to these guidelines for the operation to be legit and legalÂ
