Independence at Home limited have a thorough recruitment and selection process in place when employing carers. We look for carers that have the commitment and passion we do to support our clients.
We carry out full assessments with clients to get a better understanding of all our clients needs and make sure all our carers skills are matches the clients needs and requirements.
We carry out regular check ins with out clients to ensure staff members are meeting the clients needs and always aim to ensure clients preferences are met.

Independence at Home limited offer a minimum call time of 30 minutes. However, this is dependent on the location and the services required.
A review of care/ service meeting is carried out with all clients and their representatives to ensure the service is meeting the clients needs. We will then work with the client and their families to adapt the care to suit their needs.
We have regular communication with all of our carers and listen to their feedback in regards to client changing needs and will bring the review forward if we notice a change in the client's needs.

The hours of care will be dependant on the type of care/ services required. Independence at Home will complete an initial assessment with all new clients and help but a care plan in place. The care plan and hours can be adapted and moved around based on the clients needs.
Yes, Independence at Home Limited are here to support the family as well as the client and promotes the client to maintain strong relationships with their families. We may ask you to step outside while we carry out personal care to help maintain the client's dignity.
Independence at Home use care planner rostering system. We can send you the roster via email on a weekly basis so you know what time our carers will be calling. Calls may deviate slightly from the rostered times if an emergency arises but we always aim to keep the client informed if this happens.
Independence at Home Limited use care planner which means all our clients notes are created and stored within care planner. If the client has consented or has a Power of attorney in place we can send you weekly or monthly diary reports so you can see what your family member has been up to.
We will access your home in the clients preferred way. This will be asked during the initial assessment and will be logged in the clients care plan. This may be via key safe entry, or knock and wait for the client to open the door or via a back entrance.
All key safe codes etc will be kept confidential and can only be accessed by carers carrying out the call.
No, Our carers are not permitted to carry out any tasks that deviate from the care plan to protect both themselves and the client. We always ensure staff members are chosen based on the clients requirements outlined in the care plan.
If you would like specific tasks to be completed we can review your services for you and get this added to your care plan to ensure carers are still matched to your needs.
Independence at Home use care planner, an E rostering system. Carers are required to clock in and out of calls. Clients are then charged based on the times the carer has clocked in and out for example if a carer leaves after 45 minutes the client will only be charged 45 minutes, If a call runs over by 10 minutes the client will be charged for 1 hour and 10 minutes.
Where calls are regularly running over we will plan a review in and find out the causes. If this is due to clients changing needs we will work with the client as much as possible to keep the calls within their budgets.
Our office is open Monday to Friday 9am - 3pm. If you need to contact us outside of these times all calls to the office are diverted to the on-call phone or you can email us at support@independence-at-home.co.uk and we will respond to you as soon as we can.
A detailed care plan will be in place explaining the support required and carers will have access to the last 7 days of handover notes. All new staff members are provided with shadowing shifts to get to know the client before they visit the client alone. Independence at Home always follow up with the client to ensure they are happy with the staff members.
To ensure consistency and help build relationships we always ensure the client has a selected number of carers that know them well. Any new staff members visiting the client will be provided with shadowing shifts before the visit your loved one alone. We will always seek consent from the client or their representatives before a shadow shift is completed.
We carry out a review of care and services every 3 months with the client and their representatives. If you wish to discuss the clients care needs before this please get in touch with our office and we will schedule this in for you at your convenience.
