Carers Week 2025 'Caring about Equality' (9th-15th June)
The topic for Carer's week 2025 is 'Caring for Equality' - Highlighting the inequalities faced by unpaid carers. Including the greater risk of poverty, social isolation, poor mental & physical health.
Far to often carers of all ages miss out on opportunities in their education, careers and personal lives due to their caring role.
Caring for a loved one should never be a reason for inequality.
Independence at Home Limited recognise that client's families need support too, our aim is to involve clients families and friends in their care and support to offer the best possible support for everyone, while allowing loved ones to remain in their own homes.

Reuniting Husband & Wife after 18 months apart
One of our client’s was taken to hospital after a serious fall, following this the client was taken to a care home in Wolverhampton.
This was a worrying time for both the client and her husband after been married for over 70 year’s and never been apart. The support remained in place to support the client’s husband, who was housebound and unable to see his wife.
Independence at Home Limited has supported the client’s husband and worked along side the care home to re-unite the client and her husband, after been apart for over 18 months the client has finally returned home.
The husband was supported by Independence at Home Limited to purchase a bouquet of flowers ready to welcome his wife home.
It was a very emotional reunion for both the clients and the staff involved.
Sharing these special moments with out clients is what makes it all worthwhile.
Both husband and wife are comfortably adapting to life at home together again, and we hope they share many more happy years together.

Were asking for all our staff, clients and visitors to bring to us your used stamps. To do this simply cut round the stamp, leaving approx. 1cm of the envelope attached.
It costs us nothing but a few minutes of our time.
For every 1kg of stamps collected the charity receives £20.00

Loneliness not only affects people's mental health and well-being, but their physical health too.
As care providers we experience first-hand the impact loneliness has on the elderly every day.
This year in a bid to help tackle loneliness Independence at home limited will be "gifting time" to clients as a festive gift.
This will involve a carer, a date and time chosen by each client. The carer will then attend the client's home with a prepared festive afternoon tea box, to include sandwiches, cakes, various festive snacks and a choice of beverages.
Carers will spend the duration of 1 hour with each client, during this time they will provide companionship, assist with an interest, and chat away.
The cost of this experience will be covered entirely by Independence at home limited, this includes the carer's paid time and cost of the festive afternoon tea box.
Time is a gift we can all afford to give.
