Ti Rayons Soleil, an NGO created in 2007 in Mauritius, helps children and vulnerable people living in pockets of poverty. The community development projects have the ultimate goal of fighting poverty and exclusion through training, empowerment, educational, nutritional, medical, and paramedical support. The supervision of people in the programs helps to create social bonds and thus counteract exclusion. 

Ti Rayons Soleil identifies children within pockets of poverty who have unmet basic needs and are deprived of basic care. Then, our teams intervene in educational, nutritional, medical, and psychological areas.

To provide the necessary help, Ti Rayons Soleil implements concrete actions, thus meeting the primary needs of the children:

Fundamental learning, educational support, remedial education. Reading, oral and written expression, learning English. Support classes provide a knowledge base, aiding autonomy in adulthood. We assist struggling classes with annual tutoring after school. We also aim to develop their artistic and musical sense through workshops.

Nutritional support: A significant portion of our programs is dedicated to undernourished children, with daily meal provisions in some. It's hard to study or grow without essential nutrients like proteins and calcium.

Access to leisure activities is promoted: outings, camps, and celebrations.

To foster civic awareness among children, we organize meetings with various community stakeholders, allowing them to participate in civic workshops. From 227 poverty areas in 2008, the Mauritian Government now counts 150, where residents face extreme deprivation on less than $1 per day.

Ti Rayons Soleil aids both adults and children through diverse programs tailored to their basic needs, guided by community input. Poverty traps families, hindering access to education and rights. Ti Rayons seeks to empower individuals for a brighter future.
