For nearly two decades, Etoile de Mer has been a beacon of education, providing vital literacy and numeracy courses on a daily basis. Founded with a mission to empower those in need, our school has grown into a close-knit community of six dedicated staff members and a dynamic cohort of 30–50 students, all beneficiaries of our commitment to learning.

Affiliated with ANFEN, our school primarily serves students aged 12-16 who have faced challenges in passing primary exams or have left formal education due to economic hardships. At Etoile de Mer, we believe in providing opportunities for all, regardless of background or circumstance.

Our curriculum extends beyond traditional academics, offering a range of enriching activities to engage and inspire our students.

From cooking and gardening as part of our inclusive pedagogy to talks and awareness sessions on critical issues such as drug addiction, alcohol abuse, early pregnancy, HIV, and other sexually transmitted diseases, we empower our students with knowledge and resilience.

In addition to academic and awareness programs, Etoile de Mer provides essential psychological services, ensuring that every student has access to the support they need to thrive emotionally and mentally. Our holistic approach to education encompasses activities such as film-making with role play, handicrafts using recycled materials, dancing, and more, fostering creativity and self-expression in every child.

For many of our students, Etoile de Mer is more than just a school—it's a sanctuary of happiness and belonging. Here, children who may not find solace at home discover joy and fulfillment in learning and camaraderie.

But our mission extends beyond the classroom walls. Through community outreach programs and partnerships with local organizations, we strive to create positive change not just in the lives of our students, but in the broader community as well. From environmental initiatives to youth empowerment projects, we are committed to making a lasting impact on society.
