How It Works
1. Enable Call Blocking
Open Settings → Phone → Call Blocking & Identification and enable Call Karma. The app immediately starts blocking calls from over 46,000 known spam numbers—with automatic updates from the FTC database.
2. Check Your Protection Status
The main dashboard shows your blocking status at a glance. See how many spam numbers are being blocked, which categories are enabled, and when the database was last updated.
3. Manage Spam Categories
The Protection tab lets you choose which types of spam to block—robocalls, telemarketers, scams, and more. Enable or disable categories based on your preferences.
4. Block Your Own Numbers
Got a persistent caller the database doesn't catch? Add them to your Personal Block List. Tap the + button, enter the number, and they're blocked instantly.
5. Filter Spam Texts
Enable SMS filtering to catch spam texts before they hit your inbox. Suspicious messages go to a separate Junk folder so you can review them without the clutter.
6. Report Spam Numbers
Help the community by reporting new spam numbers. Tap Report, enter the number and select the spam type. Reported numbers are added to your block list and synced to Dead-End Protection.
7. Block from Any App (Share Extension) See a spam number in your recent calls or contacts? Tap Share → Call Karma to block it instantly. Choose "Block & Report Spam" to block and open the Report tab in one tap.
Add Call Karma widgets to see your protection status at a glance. Choose Small (blocked count), Medium (detailed stats), or Large (full dashboard). Updates automatically when you open the app.
9. Enable Dead-End Protection (Premium)
Go beyond the 44,000 FTC numbers with access to an 11 million+ spam database and real-time detection. Blocked callers hear "the number you have dialed is not in service"—spammers think your number is disconnected and stop calling. Plus, your blocklist learns automatically: every new spam call caught is added to your personal list forever.
Getting hammered by 800 numbers? Block entire area codes with one tap. Pre-configured toll-free codes (800, 888, 877, 866, 855, 844, 833) plus add any custom area code you want.
See every spam call that Dead-End Protection intercepted. View the number, date/time, and why it was blocked—spam database match, personal blocklist, or blocked area code.
Automatic Spam Blocking Block calls from 46,000+ known spam numbers instantly. The database updates automatically from the FTC and FCC registries so you're always protected against new threats.
Personal Block List Add any number to your personal block list with one tap. Block ex-contacts, persistent telemarketers, or anyone you don't want calling.
SMS Spam Filtering Filter suspicious text messages to a separate Junk folder. Keep your inbox clean without missing legitimate messages.
Home Screen Widgets See your protection status without opening the app. Small, Medium, and Large sizes show blocked counts, database stats, and last update time. Free for all users.
Report Spam Numbers Report new spam numbers to help build the community database. Categorize by type: Robocall, Telemarketer, Scam, Political, or Other. Reported numbers are blocked and synced instantly.
Share Extension Block numbers from anywhere on your phone. Use the Share menu from Calls, Messages, or Contacts to add numbers instantly. Choose "Block & Report Spam" to block and report in one tap.
Auto-Updating Database The spam number database updates automatically from the FTC and FCC. No manual downloads required.
Privacy First Call blocking works entirely on your device. Your contacts and personal data stay on your phone.
Dead-End Protection (Premium) Access an 11 million+ spam database with real-time detection. Blocked callers hear a "number disconnected" message instead of your voicemail—spammers think you're gone and stop calling.
Block by Area Code (Premium) Block all calls from specific area codes. One-tap blocking for toll-free numbers (800, 888, 877, 866, 855, 844, 833, 900) or add any custom area code. Perfect for stopping robocall floods.
Blocked Call Log (Premium) View your complete history of intercepted spam calls. See the number, timestamp, and block reason for up to 100 recent calls.
Premium: $4.99/month
