For me, plants are not only an object of scientific study, but also an artistic model. I have attended many courses about biological and botanical illustration, and I also have worked, for six months, as a Botanical Illustrator at the Botanical Garden of Rio de Janeiro (RJ, Brazil). During that time I produced illustrations for description of two new plant species, which were published here. I also have illustrations of the Habenaria genus published at the 'Flora de Sergipe' book. Nowadays, botanical illustration is mostly a hobby for me... However, from time to time, I produce some illustrations by order. Check out some of my illustrations below, and if you are interested in ordering, do not hesitate to contact me at ilaine.matos@gmail.com.
