FIELDWORK

I just adore fieldwork! It is by far the most exciting and enjoyable part of my job. It is the moment when I am in close contact with nature and I can learn by carefully observing it. It is also the moment when I can work in group and make new friends. I am truly grateful to all my friends that have helped me and acomppanied me in those adventures. Check out my field trips below.

With Mickey Boakye, Adrian Fontao, Sonoma Carlos, Haley Grimmer and Jason measuring leaf mechanical (force to punch, shear and bend), hydraulic (leaf hydraulic conductance and vulnerability curves) and other traits (latex exsudation, leaf dry matter content, specific leaf area) in a phylogenetic diverse set of species collected from the University of California Botanical Garden (UCBG).

Helping lab mates (Yan Moraes, Julia Drummond and Tina Christmann) on obtaining structural and functional traits of woody species present in islands of montane forest. We also started using a drone to monitor such patches.
