Best Student Paper Awards*

(a) Prof. D. P. Pattanayak Award: For the best student paper in the conference in the areas of Applied Linguistics.

(b) Prof. Bh. Krishnamurti Award: For the best student paper in the conference in the areas of Descriptive Linguistics.

*As instituted by LSI, the Organising Committee, ICOLSI 44 has recommended the award of two students for the best paper presented in the ICOLSI-44 held at CUTM, Bhubaneswar. Eleven students pursuing PG and M. Phil. presented their papers, out of which 5 were single-authored by PG students and 1 was by an M. Phil. student. The remaining 5 were co-authored papers.

Based on the four-factors, two papers were selected: (1) Single author PG/M. Phil. student papers; (2) Review score of their abstract submission on EasyChair (EC); (3) Presentation score awarded by the Chair of the session and (4) The quality and methodical preparation of the manuscript. Following are the shortlisted awardees. 


Ms. Rhishikanya Batswa, MA in Assamese of Gauhati University, Guwahati, Assam is awarded with Prof. D. P. Pattanayak Award: For the best student paper in the conference in the areas of Applied Linguistics. Her paper is on “Pragmatic Analysis of Assamese Proverbs as a Speech Act”, Easy Chair No.: 6338.


Ms. Khusbu Jindal, MA in Linguistics of Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, UP is awarded with Prof. Bh. Krishnamurti Award: For the best student paper in the conference in the areas of Descriptive Linguistics. Her paper is on “Phonological Process in Marwari”, Easy Chair No.: 0534.
