Draft Schedule and Call for Workshops Announced
The ICDHS14 (10–12 October 2025, hosted at IIT Delhi, India) invites proposals for workshops that critically and creatively engage with the conference theme: Cultures of Design. Workshops are envisioned as temporary yet generative spaces where design is not only studied but actively performed, debated, and re-imagined. They offer participants the opportunity to experiment, co-produce knowledge, and reflect through multiple modes of engagement such as dialogue, making, performance, speculation, or critique. Unlike paper sessions, workshops foreground active encounters, enabling participants to experience design as a living, situated, and plural practice.
What are we expecting?
Methods clinics (archival/ethnographic/participatory), classroom and curriculum labs, material-culture and craft–technology interfaces, histories and practices of typography/visual communication, repair–reuse studios, critical cartographies and mapping, data + thick-data integrations, decolonial/postcolonial toolkits, museum/collection and public-humanities engagements, and more...
Workshop proposals may respond to conference tracks or extend beyond them. The primary audience comprises the participants in the event, including young designers, doctoral scholars, master's and bachelor's students.
Workshops are primarily planned on Day 1 (10 October 2025)
The target number of participants ideally should be 15 to 18.
Duration: 60 or 90 minutes.
Convenors should plan for their materials; ICDHS14 will only provide the basic supplies if demanded (paper, pens, tape etc.) with an Interactive Screen at the venue.
The review process for the workshop is not anonymous.
