VR (Virtual Reality, 가상현실)

Generally, VR (Virtual Reality) is a kind of technology which allows a human to interact with artificial things. This artificial world is usually constructed by making artificial view, tactile sense, force, and so on with computers, precision machines or electronic devices. iCAD laboratory is researching about various application fields which are based on Mechanical and Industrial Engineering using VR.

In the VR Simulators field, iCAD laboratory researches simulator technologies which reproduce various vehicles with VR. It includes construction of virtual environment which represents view of real world, motion simulation which reproduces of vehicle motion, control of motion platform which can feel movement for passenger, interaction devices which can transmit command of passenger, and integration technique which integrates these various equipments and technique.

In the Industrial application of MR/AR field, iCAD laboratory carries out an application research for a real manufacturing industry with MR/AR technique. MR is a concept which includes both the worlds, Virtual as well as Real. MR includes both VR and AR (Augmented Reality); AR that is different from VR could provide more realistic visual impression by applying visual information such as video camera and movie from real world. AR technique can overtake limitation of industrial 3D visual tool in only VR, so it provides more sense of reality.

In the Modeling & Simulation field, iCAD laboratory researches promoting efficiency of common VR modeling progress which is tedious and expensive development process. Simultaneously, we research and develop technology for more realistic and efficient reproduction of the environment and related things.
