We purchased this salvia in 2014 from Flowers By The Sea, and it was an immediate hit with the hummingbirds. This salvia is a native of Columbia, and was only available at Flowers By The Sea. FBTS is no longer in business and we were unfortunately not able to either overwinter the plant inside nor collect seed. No one else has the plant nor seeds for sale so unfortunately, we cannot have this plant in our garden anymore. (Please note: if anyone has seed for Salvia gachantivana, please contact us. We would be pleased to trade seed for some of our other salvias in exchange to receiving seed for Salvia gachantivana.)
