Cuphea schumanni
Cuphea 'David Verity' has always been a top performer for us and we thought that there may not be an equal to it. Well, we were wrong. We tried Cuphea schumanni for the first time in 2008 and the hummers loved this plant. We enjoy seeing the larger orange flowers of this cuphea (in contrast to the smaller orange flowers of 'David Verity'). We will certainly include this cuphea in our garden every year. One drawback of this plant is that the stems are somewhat brittle and can break off easily.
