2.6 Malthusian Theory

China did not follow Malthusian's theory in the sense that it did not allow unchecked population growth to lead to inevitable famine and misery. This is shown through China's most notable population control policy, the "One-Child Policy", which was driven by concerns of overpopulation, resource scarcity, and the desire to promote economic development.
